The inZOI team has confirmed the immediate removal of Denuvo DRM following player backlash. Reports surfaced within the past day revealing the anti-tamper software's presence in the Creative Studio mode demo. Denuvo's integration in games remains contentious, with widespread criticism about its potential performance impact.

Originally implemented to combat software piracy, Denuvo's DRM technology restricts unauthorized copying and distribution of PC game files.

inZOI director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim addressed the situation in a March 26 Steam blog post, confirming the Early Access version launching Friday will be DRM-free. "We adopted Denuvo believing it would protect legitimate players from pirated versions," Kim explained. "But community response made us realize this solution didn't match our players' expectations."

Kim acknowledged failing to properly communicate about Denuvo's inclusion in Creative Studio mode. While anticipating increased piracy risks, the director emphasized preserving the game's modding potential. "Removing these restrictions empowers our community to fully customize their experience from day one - we believe this creative freedom will foster long-term engagement."

The decision to implement Denuvo initially contradicted inZOI's modding-focused philosophy, puzzling players concerned about customization limitations.

"Our Online Showcase clearly stated modding support remains central to inZOI's development," Kim stressed. "Phase one mod tools launch in May, enabling Maya and Blender integration for custom content creation. This foundation will expand progressively, offering deeper game modification capabilities."

A dedicated modding update is forthcoming. Krafton confirms ongoing responsiveness to player feedback to refine the gaming experience.

The PC Early Access launch arrives March 28, 2025, with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions planned for full release (date TBD).
