Freedom Wars Remastered displays each Abductor's health bar prominently on its torso. Players utilize diverse weapons and combat items to deplete this health and secure victory. The game features various damage types, each with unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons often target specific body parts, Impact Damage serves a similar strategic purpose.

Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage mechanics and its effective use in Freedom Wars Remastered.

What is Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered?

Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. While you'll see a numerical value alongside the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly translate to increased total damage. Instead, it's non-elemental damage that boosts the force of your standard attacks, accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting unique reactions, creating a window for substantial damage before recovery.

Unlike the readily visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. Staggering can occur at any point once the rate surpasses a certain threshold. This presents both advantages and drawbacks. Offline play allows for charged attacks and maximized damage output. However, online, staggering an Abductor might hinder teammate attacks. Some Abductors, such as Ramosa (who retreats), react differently to staggering, potentially complicating precise hits.

Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. Utilize the Manufacture Modules feature to create modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Combine multiple identical modules (Synthesise Modules) to upgrade their effectiveness. Attach the crafted module to your weapon to enhance Impact Damage and improve staggering capabilities.

Since Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritize physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements for optimal staggering. This makes modules like Stagger Damage Up especially valuable for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons with inherent stagger potential.
