Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Launches with Major Update 7.0 Changes

Author:Kristen Update:May 05,2025

The first public test server for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, offering players an early glimpse into the highly anticipated Update 7.0 and its patch notes. In a community post, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive revealed that the preliminary patch notes for the PTS version cover "most" of the features in the 7.0 update, though the final patch notes may vary as the team continues to refine bug fixes.

PC players participating in the PTS have a wealth of new content to explore, which is currently unavailable on consoles. Update 7.0 introduces a new PvE mission titled "Exfiltration," a new secondary weapon called the Inferno Pistol available for Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes, endgame-focused prestige ranks in PvE, and the addition of private PvP lobbies.

For fans of customization, Update 7.0 brings exciting new options, including new colors such as Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with the ability to recolor Bulwark cloth and hands. PvP rewards have also been boosted by 50%. The PTS version includes the Imperial Fists Champion skin for the Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.

Significant balance changes have been made, with an extended weapon arsenal now available in PvE, allowing all classes to access a broader range of weapons. Notably, the Assault class can now use the Power Sword without needing mods. Players are encouraged to review the patch notes for detailed tweaks to Space Marine 2's extensive weapon lineup.

A notable gameplay improvement comes with the Inferno Operation, where players reaching the assembly area in the final stage will trigger a forced teleportation of remaining players after a brief delay, addressing previous issues with griefing that could halt progress.
