Полуночное общество доктора Desrespect закрывается, отменяет Deadrop

Игровая студия Midnight Society, основанное на Streamer Guy "Dr. Deprespect" Beahm, объявила о своем закрытии и отмене своей предстоящей игры шутера от первого лица (FPS) Deadrop.

Студия рассказала о новостях в X Post, заявив, что «сегодня мы объявляем, что Midnight Society закроет свои двери после трех невероятных лет, с удивительной командой из более чем 55 разработчиков». Объявление включало в себя просьбу о возможностях трудоустройства для ее ныне занятых членов команды.

Midnight Society было создано Behm, наряду с ветеранами промышленности Робертом Боулинг (Call of Duty) и Куинн Делхой (Halo). Deadrop, запланированный FPS Free-Play FP, стремился использовать коллективный опыт команды. Нацеливаясь на выпуск 2024 года, игра в конечном итоге не смогла встретить свое окно запуска.

Студия разорвала связи с Beahm в 2024 году после признания стримера неуместных взаимодействий с несовершеннолетним через Twitch Whispers. Несмотря на это разделение, развитие Deadrop продолжалась до недавнего отключения.

Игра была представлена в ретро-футуристической обстановке, описанной как «80-е годы никогда не закончились». Рекламные материалы демонстрировали персонажей, которые занимались дурачными панк-шлемами, вооруженными как огнестрельным оружием, так и оружием ближнего боя. Геймплей должен был включить формат стрелка извлечения PVPVE.

Закрытие Midnight Society добавляет растущий список игровых студий, сталкивающихся с финансовыми трудностями и сокращением рабочей силы. Этот сложный климат уже повлиял на крупных игроков отрасли, таких как Ubisoft, Bioware и Phoenix Labs, среди прочих.
