Take-Two has revealed the sales of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5), a game released over a decade ago in September 2013, continues to defy expectations. Despite its age, it sold an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone, solidifying its place as one of the best-selling games in history.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), released in October 2018, also shows remarkable staying power. Sales figures climbed by 3 million copies in the last quarter, bringing the total to an astounding 70 million copies sold.

A significant contributor to this enduring success is GTA Online, the massively popular multiplayer mode of GTA 5. Take-Two Interactive's commitment to ongoing updates, such as the December 2024 release of "Agents of Sabotage," keeps players engaged and returning for more.

Looking ahead, Take-Two has confirmed a fall 2025 release for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. Other upcoming titles include Mafia: The Old Country, expected in summer 2025, and Borderlands 4, slated for release later in the year.

While concerns about potential delays for Grand Theft Auto VI are understandable, Take-Two Interactive's recent financial presentation reaffirmed the autumn 2025 release window. Similarly, the company confirmed Borderlands 4 for a 2025 release, though specific dates remain unannounced.

Despite the fall release announcement for GTA VI, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Rockstar Games' meticulous development approach, noting that, similar to past projects like GTA 5 and RDR2, this may necessitate additional development time.
