Stardew Valley Switch Patch Update Announced by Creator

Summary

  • ConcernedApe is actively working on resolving issues in Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch version, including the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems.
  • The anticipated Nintendo Switch patch will be released "as soon as possible."
  • These issues have already been fixed on PC, console, and mobile platforms, but the Switch patch is still in development.

Stardew Valley’s developer, ConcernedApe, has taken to social media to announce that the much-awaited Nintendo Switch patch addressing the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues will be released soon. Since its launch in 2016, Stardew Valley has captivated players with its unique gameplay and charming pixel art, becoming a beloved title known for its relaxing and engaging mechanics. ConcernedApe has been diligent in updating the game, not only to introduce new content but also to fix bugs and issues reported by the community. A significant update addressing a persistent issue was released in December and is now on the verge of being available on the Switch.

ConcernedApe recently used Twitter to update players that the Stardew Valley patch tackling the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues is "still coming." While a specific release date for the Switch update hasn't been disclosed, the developer has assured fans that it will be rolled out as soon as possible. Following the release of update 1.6 in March for PC, which introduced new NPC chats, the Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals, among other features, players encountered these issues. Although update 1.6 resolved many gameplay problems, it inadvertently introduced new bugs. These were quickly addressed on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and an emergency patch was released for the mobile version on November 15. Now, nearly 20 days after the initial announcement, the Switch patch is nearing completion.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

The massive update 1.6 for Stardew Valley, released for PC in March, brought a wealth of new content to players, including personalized NPC interactions, a new Meadowlands Farm type, and new festivals and events. Visual enhancements such as waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal world map variants were also added.

Despite the success of update 1.6 in resolving many gameplay issues, it inadvertently introduced new problems when rolled out to console and mobile versions in November. Players quickly identified several game-breaking bugs, prompting an immediate response from ConcernedApe. An emergency patch was released for the mobile version on November 15, and the developer continued to work on fixes for other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community has praised ConcernedApe for their transparent communication and swift action in addressing player concerns. Although the patch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues on the Switch is not yet available, players can be confident that the developer is diligently working to release it soon.
