Pokémon Go Launches Wayfarer Challenge in Chile and India

Niantic is thrilled to announce the launch of the Wayfarer Challenge in Pokémon Go, offering trainers in Chile and India a unique opportunity to contribute to their gaming environment while earning exclusive rewards. This event allows players to review and approve Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform, which can lead to the introduction of new PokéStops and Gyms in Pokémon Go.

The Wayfarer Challenge will take place from March 7th to 9th in Chile and from March 10th to 12th in India. During these dates, you can nominate real-world locations such as landmarks, sculptures, and street art to be transformed into PokéStops and Gyms. By participating, you contribute to reaching community milestones that unlock special rewards.

If the community manages to resolve 5,000 nominations, all participants will be rewarded with 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Should the community reach 10,000 approvals, the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.

To participate, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and have a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing nominations. Additionally, you need to have played in Chile or India recently or set your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To be eligible for rewards, you must review at least 50 nominations, and at least one milestone must be achieved.

Alongside the Wayfarer Challenge, a PokéStop Challenge event will run from March 9th to 12th, exclusively in Chile and India. During this event, you'll earn 3x XP for your first visit to new PokéStops, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and see increased Kecleon spawns. Event Field Research will offer encounters with Eevee, while Timed Research provides opportunities to catch other Pokémon.
