Survival game Subnautica launches globally

Subnautica is now available on Android, allowing you to dive into the alien ocean depths of Planet 4546B. Originally released for PC by Unknown Worlds in 2018, this survival action-adventure title captivated players with its stunning underwater environments and compelling survival gameplay.

Subnautica is a survival open-world undersea

You take on the role of Ryley Robinson, the sole survivor of the crashed starship Aurora on a planet entirely covered by ocean. Forget about forests or deserts; here, you are surrounded by a vast, watery expanse full of marine life.

The core gameplay challenges you to monitor your oxygen, hunger, and thirst as you gather essential resources. These materials are dispersed across diverse biomes like coral reefs, volcanic vents, and deep-sea caverns.

Your journey begins with a struggle for basic sustenance, but you'll gradually advance to crafting sophisticated equipment, piloting advanced submersibles, and constructing underwater habitats.

An onboard 3D fabricator and a helpful AI companion guide your progress. Each expedition brings you closer to uncovering the planet's secrets and finding a way to leave.

Throughout your dives, you'll meet creatures such as the Crabsquid, Warper, Mesmer, Boneshark, Ampeel, Stalker, and Crashfish. You may also encounter the colossal Leviathan-class organisms, including the Reaper, Sea Dragon, and Ghost Leviathan.

Subnautica on Android launches with a discount

The mobile version delivers the same expansive, first-person exploration experience. It includes several gameplay modes to suit different playstyles.

Survival Mode requires careful management of food, water, and oxygen. Freedom Mode eases the survival demands by removing hunger and thirst, while Creative Mode eliminates these constraints entirely for pure exploration.

The planet also features two major islands, offering a change from the underwater vistas. A dynamic day-night cycle and frequent eclipses alter the lighting and mood, keeping the environment feeling alive.

This Android release features a redesigned touchscreen interface, full controller support, Google Play Games achievements, and cloud save functionality for playing across multiple devices.

Subnautica is currently on the Google Play Store with a 10% launch discount, priced at $8.99 instead of the standard $9.99. For more gaming news, check out our coverage of Galaxy Frontier 2's new 'War for Humanity' DLC.
