Let the demon hunting begin! Netflix is bringing the iconic video game series Devil May Cry to life with an anime adaptation, and fans have been treated to an exciting new trailer. What's even more thrilling is the posthumous involvement of the legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy, who will star as VP Baines in this new series.

Conroy, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated projects, lends his voice to a new character in the Devil May Cry series. You can catch a glimpse of his performance in the opening voiceover of the trailer. Conroy's last acclaimed role was in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3 in July 2024, making his contribution to Devil May Cry an exciting posthumous addition for fans to look forward to after his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66.

Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch voicing the protagonist, Dante himself.

According to the official synopsis from Netflix, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

Adi Shankar, known for his work on films like Dredd, Killing Them Softly, and The Voices, will serve as the showrunner for the series. Shankar is also set to executive produce an Assassin’s Creed adaptation, though its long-awaited release remains uncertain.

The animation will be brought to life by Studio Mir, the renowned South Korean studio behind hits like The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97. Devil May Cry is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025.
