Fix 'Mission Not Complete' Error in Ready or Not: Quick Guide

Author:Kristen Update:May 04,2025

So, you've just navigated through an intense mission in Ready or Not, successfully taken down all the enemies, and rescued the hostages, only to be hit with a frustrating "Mission Not Complete" message. Don't worry, you're not alone. Here's how to tackle the "Mission Not Complete" issue in Ready or Not.

1. Double-Check Your Objectives

Ready Or Not Mission Complete Vote Screen

The first step is to ensure you've completed all your objectives. Sometimes, the game might not agree with your assessment of the situation. Even if you think you've done everything, the mission might not count as complete if all objectives aren't fulfilled.

How to Check:

  • Press the Tab button to open the mission menu and review the objective list. If any objectives are red or marked as incomplete, that's likely your issue. Here are some commonly missed objectives:

    • Reporting downed suspects or civilians: If you incapacitate or kill a suspect, you need to report it by interacting with them (default key F). The same goes for civilians.
    • Securing evidence (weapons, bombs, etc.): Make sure to secure any dropped weapons. If a suspect drops a gun, pick it up.
    • Completing optional objectives: Some missions have additional tasks like disabling security systems. Skipping these can prevent mission completion.
    • Ensuring all hostages are safe: If any civilian is still tied up, make sure they're properly rescued.

Fix: Revisit the map and check if you've overlooked anything.

2. The Vote-to-End Issue (Multiplayer)

Ready Or Not Vote to End Mission Screen

This issue often trips up players in co-op mode. In Ready or Not, all players must vote to end the mission to mark it as complete. If just one player misses the vote, the "Mission Not Complete" error will appear.

How to Fix:

  • Ensure every player presses Y (default key) when the vote prompt appears. If someone isn't voting, remind them via voice or text chat.
  • If a player is AFK, you might need to wait or consider kicking them from the session.

  • If the vote screen isn't showing for some players, restart the mission.

3. Objective Bugs

Sometimes, despite completing all objectives, the game might not recognize it due to bugs.

Common Bugs:

  • The game doesn't register secured weapons.
  • A rescued hostage isn't counted as saved.
  • An objective remains incomplete even though you've met the conditions.

How to Fix:

  • Restart the mission and try again.
  • In multiplayer, try switching the host as the game might register objectives differently for different players.
  • Verify your game files: Go to Steam > Right-click Ready or Not > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files. This can resolve issues caused by missing or corrupted files.

The Classic ‘Restart and Hope’ Method

If none of the above solutions work, sometimes the only option left is to restart the mission. While it's not ideal, Ready or Not is still in development, and mission completion bugs can occur. If a mission stubbornly refuses to complete, restarting is often the quickest way to resolve the issue.
