Mario vs. Sonic: Unofficial cinematic crossover trailer unveiled

The dream clash between Sonic and Mario on the silver screen has long captivated fans. The potential for a Sega and Nintendo collaboration has been a frequent topic of discussion among supporters.

KH Studio has fueled this excitement with a concept trailer showcasing a spectacular crossover. The familiar, vibrant Mushroom Kingdom is juxtaposed with Sonic's high-speed action, offering a tantalizing glimpse of what a combined franchise film could achieve.

Inspired by the phenomenal success of the Super Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog movies—which collectively raked in over $2 billion globally—the creators crafted this captivating trailer.

While a true collaboration between Nintendo and Sega's iconic heroes remains unlikely due to their historical rivalry, the concept resonated deeply with fans, sparking widespread enthusiasm.

In the meantime, audiences can anticipate sequels to both beloved franchises: "Super Mario Bros. at the Movies 2" slated for 2026, and "Sonic 4 at the Movies" in 2027.

December saw the unveiling of a surprising partnership between McDonald's, Sega, and Paramount. Sonic made his way to US McDonald's locations following the release of Sonic toys in 2022. This fueled fan speculation about a collaboration for the third Sonic film. After much anticipation, McDonald's introduced a new Sonic-themed Happy Meal to Colombian consumers.

The commercial featured twelve unique hedgehog designs, initially prompting questions about a US release. However, McDonald's subsequently confirmed its availability in the United States. Each Sonic Happy Meal includes a special Sonic the Hedgehog 3 toy, a side, a drink, and a choice of Chicken McNuggets or a hamburger.
