While *Fields of Mistria* allows you to forge friendships with virtually everyone in town, romance is a special journey reserved for a select group of 11 NPCs, including the enigmatic Caldarus himself, as of the v0.13.0 update. Each romanceable NPC comes with a personal heart meter, which you can fill by engaging with them in meaningful ways.

To kindle a romance, you should:

**Talk to them daily**: A simple chat while you're out and about in town can significantly boost your connection.
**Fulfill their requests**: Keep an eye on the town board and complete any tasks they post. This not only helps the community but also increases their affection towards you.
**Gift them daily**: Choose items they love or like. These can be gathered or crafted and vary from one character to another. On their birthday, opt for a gift they love to maximize the heart gauge boost.

Remember, the current max heart level is six. Once you reach this, a cutscene will hint at budding romance. The game’s roadmap promises future updates with 8 and 10-heart events, leading to possibilities like marriage and children, ensuring your romantic journey in Mistria is just beginning.
