Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, has shared his bold prediction that GTA 6 will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its first day. During an insightful interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Luke expressed his excitement about the upcoming GTA 6, hinting that the game will exceed all expectations, just as Rockstar Games typically does.

Luke reassured fans, saying, "What I tell people is, be patient. It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He drew a comparison with GTA 5, which earned over $800 million within its first 24 hours upon release in 2013, confidently stating that GTA 6 would surpass these figures.

According to projections by DFC Intelligence, GTA 6 is expected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its first year, with a significant $1 billion coming solely from pre-orders.

The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6

Luke also offered insights into the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and possibly GTA 6. He pointed out that his character, Michael, has not appeared in GTA Online since its inception, unlike the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, who have had their moments in the game.

Teasing fans about Michael's future, Luke hinted at the possibility of Michael appearing in a rumored final DLC for GTA Online or even making a cameo in GTA 6. Meanwhile, Steven Ogg, the voice behind Trevor, shared with ScreenRant in January 2025 his vision of Trevor's potential role in GTA 6, suggesting a dramatic exit early in the game as a symbolic "passing the torch" moment.

Luke added, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the enthusiasm from both actors about reprising their roles, no official word has been released regarding the inclusion of these characters in GTA 6.

GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase

Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York revealed that GTA 6 is likely in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York discussed the uniqueness of GTA 6 and its current development stage.

York emphasized the game's unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't." He believes that GTA 6 is undergoing rigorous in-house testing, with developers still adding final touches and extras.

York suggested that the game is at least playable at this stage and speculated that numerous testers may have already experienced it.

Rockstar Games first unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, and since then, the company has kept details under wraps. It was previously reported that GTA 6 is set for a Fall 2025 release, according to Take-Two Interactive’s Financial Report in 2024. However, no official release date has been confirmed.
