The release date for Ghost of Yōtei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, has been unveiled alongside a thrilling new trailer highlighting its narrative and gameplay. Discover when the game will hit shelves and explore its digital deluxe and collector’s editions below.

PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have confirmed the release date for Ghost of Yōtei, the follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima. On April 23, a new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List" debuted, offering a glimpse into the game’s story and gameplay. The trailer concludes with the official launch date: October 2, 2025.
In Ghost of Yōtei, players follow Atsu, a warrior in Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), driven by vengeance against the Yōtei Six, a band of outlaws who murdered her family and left her for dead. Her mission is to track down each member—The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito—one by one.
This standalone sequel, set 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, introduces new weapons, enhanced mechanics, and builds on the original’s foundation. Earlier this year, developers shared details about these additions, promising a richer experience for players.

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order, crafting their own journey of retribution. In a PlayStation.blog post on April 23, Sucker Punch elaborated on Atsu’s story and the game’s open-world exploration, which provides greater variety and flexibility compared to its predecessor.
Beyond hunting the outlaws, players can engage in diverse activities across Ezo, such as tracking dangerous targets for bounties or training with weapon masters to unlock new skills. The game retains fan-favorite features like the "Guiding Wind" and introduces a new campfire-building mechanic, allowing players to set up camp anywhere in the open world. Sucker Punch emphasized player freedom as a core focus, with more details to be revealed soon.
