Games Workshop Announces £20 Million Staff Bonus Following Record Profits

Games Workshop, the creator of Warhammer 40,000, continues its financial success by announcing a £20 million (~$27 million) bonus pool for employees.

Record Financial Performance

The Nottingham-based company reported impressive growth for the fiscal year ending June 1, 2025. Core revenue reached £560 million (up from £494.7 million), while licensing revenue jumped to £50 million (from £31 million). Profits told a similar story - core profit rose to £210 million (£174.8 million previously) and licensing profit grew to £45 million (£27 million). Total pre-tax profits reached £255 million compared to £203 million last year.

Generous Employee Recognition

In recognition of staff contributions to these results, Games Workshop increased its bonus payout from last year's £18 million to £20 million. With approximately 1,500 employees, this translates to roughly £13,333 (~$18,000) per person.

The company's primary business remains miniature sales for tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000, but its IP licensing continues expanding significantly. Recent successes include Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 video game and Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level animation. The company also finalized its development deal with Henry Cavill for a Warhammer cinematic universe, while Space Marine 3 enters development.

Future Outlook

While Games Workshop acknowledges licensing revenue hit record levels unlikely to repeat next year, the Warhammer franchise continues growing unabated. The company recently hosted its Warhammer Skulls showcase, announcing highlights including a Dawn of War Definitive Edition and Space Marine 2's Siege mode.
