Nightreign Reveals 6th Class, Ironeye

A Deadly Ranged Sniper

Elden Ring: Nightreign introduces the Ironeye, a sniper class that revolutionizes ranged gameplay with its emphasis on swiftness and dexterity. The character trailer gives us a thrilling glimpse into its capabilities, showcasing a massive bow and arrow setup that allows for dynamic wall-running and mid-air attacks. This new class also features an innovative aiming system designed to make landing headshots more intuitive than ever before. In an impressive display of skill, the Ironeye even executed a riposte using a bow and arrow, striking directly at an enemy's heart.

During the Nightreign closed network test in February, players got a taste of four out of eight planned classes: the versatile Wylder, the sturdy Guardian, the agile Duchess, and the mystical Recluse. The introduction of the Ironeye as the sixth class hints at the possibility that FromSoftware may unveil the final two classes later this month, as Nightreign's release approaches.

The quality-of-life enhancements, including the new aiming system, have sparked hope among fans that similar updates might be integrated into the original Elden Ring. Such improvements could enhance the appeal of using bows as primary weapons, which have traditionally been less favored compared to melee options due to their perceived lower effectiveness.

Social media platforms like Reddit have highlighted the community's general preference for melee combat in the original game. However, the revamped Ironeye class in Nightreign demonstrates that bows and arrows can be just as formidable, potentially encouraging more players to explore ranged builds in this new installment.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone adventure within the Elden Ring universe, is scheduled for release on May 30th, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for $39.99. For more detailed information about the game, be sure to check out Game8's comprehensive article.
