Destiny 2 Releases Update 8.0.0.5

Destiny 2's latest update, 8.0.0.5, addresses numerous community-reported issues and improves upon recent additions. While recent updates like Into the Light and The Final Shape have revitalized the game, some problems persisted, including a block on unlocking the Khvostov 7G-0X exotic auto rifle. This patch tackles these concerns head-on.

A significant change affects the Pathfinder system, a replacement for daily and weekly bounties. Player feedback highlighted issues with node arrangement and forced activity switching, impacting streak bonuses. Update 8.0.0.5 refines the system, replacing Gambit-specific nodes with more versatile options, allowing completion through either PvE or PvP activities.

Another key improvement removes elemental surges from Dungeons and Raids. Following player feedback and data analysis confirming negative impacts on gameplay, Bungie has removed surges and implemented a universal damage bonus for all subclass types.

This update also patches a duplication glitch in the Dual Destiny exotic mission, preventing players from exploiting the system to obtain double class items.
