Destiny 2 Hints at Classic Weapon

Destiny 2 enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement over the potential return of the legendary hand cannon, The Palindrome, with the launch of Episode: Heresy in February. This speculation stems from a cryptic tweet from the official Destiny 2 Twitter account, which was a palindrome—a phrase that reads the same forwards and backwards, hinting at the weapon's name. As Destiny 2 has recently experienced a significant dip in player count and retention, the community is eagerly anticipating that Episode: Heresy might be the much-needed boost to revitalize the game before the next major content update, Codename: Frontiers, later this year.

With the conclusion of Episode: Revenant on the horizon, Bungie has already begun to tease the next big content drop. Episode: Revenant, unfortunately, fell short of expectations, with fans voicing their dissatisfaction over its narrative and gameplay content. Despite this, it managed to refresh the weapon pool by reintroducing classics like the Icebreaker exotic sniper rifle from the original Destiny. Now, with Episode: Heresy set to launch on February 4, it seems Bungie is poised to reintroduce even more iconic weapons, with The Palindrome being a prime candidate.

The Return of The Palindrome Should Be a More Triumphant One This Time

This isn't the first rodeo for The Palindrome in Destiny 2, having been absent since The Witch Queen expansion in 2022. Historically a dominant force in PvP, its recent iterations have disappointed fans due to less desirable perk selections. As Episode: Heresy approaches, fans are hopeful that The Palindrome's return will come with a refreshed and more competitive set of perks. While details about Episode: Heresy remain scarce, aside from its focus on the Hive and the Dreadnought from the original game, it's anticipated that Bungie will continue to tease the return of more beloved weapons as the launch date nears.
