Toby Fox, the creator of the beloved game Undertale, has recently shared an exciting update about the ongoing development of Deltarune, his latest project. Deltarune’s Console Testing Going Smoothly

In a recent post on his official Bluesky account, Toby Fox provided fans with an update on the console testing phase for Deltarune. He mentioned that while there are still numerous aspects to refine, the process is progressing smoothly. "Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)," Fox stated, highlighting the ongoing efforts to polish the game. Additionally, he shared that the team is working on a feature that will allow players to transfer their saves from the demo (Chapters 1 and 2) to the full game on console versions. This feature, which they've only recently been able to implement, promises to enhance the gaming experience by allowing continuity across chapters. "I hope it works!" Fox added optimistically.

With the beta testing showing promising results, the release of Deltarune's Chapters 3 and 4 is anticipated sometime in 2025, as confirmed by Fox on his Bluesky account.

Fox Namedrops New Character, Tenna

Despite the heavy workload involved in finalizing Chapters 3 and 4, Toby Fox continues to engage with his fanbase through entertaining mini-updates. Known for his clever use of internet memes and his humorous, self-deprecating style, Fox recently shared a light-hearted anecdote on social media. "I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as ‘a cry for help because your game is not out’," he posted, adding that his family found it amusing, while a friend couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes.

This update sparked speculation among fans, especially since Fox had previously mentioned in 2024 that the content for Chapters 3 and 4 was complete. Some believe the minigame might be a sneak peek into Chapter 5, as Deltarune is planned to span seven chapters in total.

In the same post, Fox also mentioned a character named Tenna, who has yet to appear in the game but was first introduced during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign on the Deltarune website in September 2022 for the Child’s Play charity. Fox's mention of Tenna confirms that this mysterious character will indeed feature in Chapter 3, adding to the anticipation surrounding the game's narrative.

Deltarune serves as a parallel and successor to the critically acclaimed Undertale, retaining many of its mechanics and quirks while introducing a fresh storyline and new characters. Players will join Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on an epic quest to save the world, promising another immersive and engaging experience from Toby Fox.
