Dynasty Warriors: Origins: A Guide to Gem Crafting and Pyroxene Acquisition

Boost your character's power in Dynasty Warriors: Origins by mastering the gem system! Gems provide passive buffs, significantly aiding higher difficulty gameplay. This guide details gem crafting, upgrading, and Pyroxene acquisition.

Gem Crafting and Leveling

Gem crafting utilizes Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. Navigate to your room and select "Create Gems" (second option from the top). Pyroxene is consumed at a 1:1 ratio to craft gems. Five unique gems are craftable, with each Pyroxene offering a random chance at one of these five.

Initially crafted gems are level 1 and equippable via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicates grants experience (XP) to the base gem, increasing its potency with each level. For broad improvement, craft and upgrade multiple gems at once.

For targeted gem acquisition, utilize the "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" effect. Crafting a single gem has a chance to trigger this effect, limiting subsequent Pyroxene crafts to three randomly selected gems. Cancel this effect by exiting and re-entering the gem crafting menu. While tedious, crafting individually increases the odds of triggering "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for your desired gem. Note that "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" reduces randomness but doesn't eliminate it entirely.

Here's a table summarizing the five craftable gems:

Gem Name Passive Boost
Oblivion Gem Expands attack range.
Vortex Gem Boosts damage to airborne enemies.
Scorch Gem Boosts damage against parried enemies.
Wellspring Gem Restores health per 100 defeated enemies.
Ascendance Gem Chance to automatically block officer attacks.

Pyroxene Locations

Pyroxene, represented as orange crystals, randomly spawns throughout the overworld. Collecting a crystal yields one Pyroxene, after which the crystal disappears. Pyroxene respawns after completing skirmishes or battles, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Letters read in your Inn or tent room may also occasionally reward Pyroxene.
