How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are essential for several new features, making them a crucial resource for daily tasks. This guide covers finding, crafting, and using Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found within chests located throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. While I discovered my first while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, chests can appear on any level across all biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies—they look like chests but will attack if interacted with.

You can find Essence Stones in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If you’re struggling to locate them, you can craft them at the Stone Refinery once built.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery, a new addition introduced in the March 2025 update, allows you to craft Essence Stones. This structure is part of a new story quest that requires you to build the refinery within the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

Building the Stone Refinery requires:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using Stone and Essence. The required amounts vary depending on the size:

**Tiny Essence Stone**	x5 Stone x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**	x10 Stone x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**	x20 Stone x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Besides Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery also crafts various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting hub for various projects.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced auto-petting and sprinkler mechanics, both requiring Essence Stones. Larger stones provide longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the longest charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is used. This statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol’s house; additional statues can be crafted after unlocking the item. The sprinkler, unlocked with the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. This statue, along with its crafting scroll, is located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse. Use Dragon's Breath to access the area.

Expect Essence Stones to play a larger role in future *Fields of Mistria* updates from NPC Studio.
