Thousands to Test New Battlefield Features

Author:Kristen Update:Nov 11,2025

EA has unveiled Battlefield Labs, a specialized platform functioning as an internal closed beta for upcoming franchise titles. The team released brief pre-alpha gameplay footage alongside this announcement.

Selected participants in Battlefield Labs will experience foundational game mechanics and experimental concepts—though not all features may appear in the final product. Access requires signing an NDA covering various gameplay components. Testing will include core modes like Conquest and Breakthrough, with initial phases concentrating on combat mechanics and environmental destruction before progressing to balance refinements.

The developers have initiated PC, PS5, and Xbox Series preregistration. EA will distribute thousands of invites starting this month, with plans for broader regional access in subsequent phases.

The development team confirms the shooter has reached its "critical production phase." While no launch date is confirmed, four EA studios—DICE, Motive, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect—are collaborating on the project.
