Exploding Kittens Launches Barking Kittens Expansion

Exploding Kittens 2 has just released the final content drop for its Explosive Expansion Pass: the Barking Kittens Expansion. Marmalade Game Studio has introduced eight new cards and eleven new deck configurations with this update, available now across all platforms.

The Barking Kittens expansion introduces a card mechanic built on suspense and paranoia. These cards function in pairs; when one is played, the entire table tenses up. If another player holds the matching Barking Kitten, they immediately explode unless they can defuse it.

The expansion includes seven additional cards. 'Bury' lets you secretly place the card you would draw next back into the deck, as if you had defused an explosion. 'I’ll Take That' allows you to steal the next card an opponent draws.

'Potluck' forces every player to place a card face-down on top of the draw pile, disrupting everyone's strategy. 'Tower of Power' makes a popular return, forcing anyone attempting to steal from you to take a random card from a hidden stack.

'Personal Attack' grants you three consecutive turns, a high-risk, high-reward move. 'Alter the Future NOW' and 'Share the Future' each add a new twist to deck manipulation. The latter requires you to reveal the cards you've rearranged to the next player, blending strategy with potential mischief.

The eleven new decks in Barking Kittens offer distinct playstyles

Each new deck presents a unique form of sabotage. The Barking Kittens deck focuses on high-stakes standoffs. The Black Hole deck draws inspiration from the Imploding Kittens expansion, introducing dangerous surprises.

The Power Play deck is packed with the most powerful cards, which can either secure your victory or make you the table's biggest target. Sharing Is Caring seems cooperative but can be unpredictable, while the Nope Sauce deck specializes in cancelling and denying other players' actions.

The Meowsochist deck lets you tread a fine line between a major win and sudden elimination. Eye for an Eye revolves around foreseeing the future without always being able to change it. Card Hoarders prevents you from skipping turns or avoiding draws, keeping you constantly engaged.

Mind Games aptly rewards bluffing and psychological warfare. The Cat Fight deck speeds up aggression with rapid attacks. Finally, Sticky Fingers is designed for relentless thieves who seize every opportunity to take from others.
