Bandai Namco Remasters Tales of Xillia Next

Author:Kristen Update:Nov 22,2025

Bandai Namco has dropped hints about another Tales series remaster, strongly suggesting Tales of Xillia will be the next title receiving an upgrade.

The tease appeared in a scheduled livestream on the official Tales YouTube channel, set to premiere tomorrow at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. Currently, the stream preview shows a mysterious message: "The Next Tales Of Remastered is...?"

Social media sleuths discovered compelling evidence pointing to Xillia - the remaster briefly appeared in an accidental upload on Bandai Namco Europe's page days earlier. This suggests tomorrow's early morning reveal (surprisingly ahead of Gamescom's Opening Night Live) will indeed feature Tales of Xillia.

Originally released in Japan (2011) and worldwide (2013), Tales of Xillia follows protagonists Jude and Milla as they race to prevent a devastating superweapon's activation. Our review scored it 8/10, making it prime for remastering - especially since it's remained PS3-exclusive and challenging to revisit. The game spawned sequel Tales of Xillia 2, also confined to PS3.

While exciting news, some fans may express disappointment this isn't their most-wanted Tales remaster. Last year's Tales of Remastered Program launched with Tales of Graces f (following Symphonia's prior remaster). When we interviewed producer Yuki Ishikawa about fan-favorite Tales of the Abyss potentially receiving treatment, he responded enthusiastically.

"If an Abyss remaster becomes possible," Ishikawa said, "I'd work tirelessly to deliver that excitement to fans." Meanwhile, I'll continue quietly advocating for Zestiria's turn whenever it may come.
