Ace Trainer is a new Farlight Games release, in soft launch for select regions

Farlight Games capped off a successful 2024 with their collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey. Now, as 2025 begins, they're launching Ace Trainer, currently in soft launch in South Korea and the US.

Ace Trainer blends several genres. It features creature collection, training, and leveling, reminiscent of Pokémon, but with a unique twist. Instead of traditional turn-based battles, players deploy their creatures in a tower defense-style game against zombie hordes. Adding another layer of gameplay, pinball mechanics are integrated for resource gathering. This unusual mix of genres makes it hard to predict its global release, but the multi-regional soft launch suggests Farlight has high hopes for the game.

A Risky Strategy?

Ace Trainer attempts to combine numerous elements—PvP, PvE, tower defense, and pinball—resulting in a potentially overwhelming experience. While individually popular, the combination raises questions about long-term playability and whether the game can maintain player engagement. However, this eclectic mix may also appeal to a broad audience.
