How to Play Okey Game

The offline Okey game is traditionally played with four players. A cue stick is used to help players sort their tiles. The game features 106 tiles in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13, along with two fake Okey tiles.

At the start, all tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed among players. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then organize their tiles into groups or pairs according to their cues.

Undistributed tiles are placed in the middle of the table, with one open tile serving as the indicator stone. The tile matching the indicator's color and number becomes the Okey Stone, which can replace any tile in the game. Finishing the game with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.

Normal Tile Arrangement in Okey Game

Players arrange their tiles into at least three pairs. There are two types of pairs:

  • Series pairs, formed by placing tiles of the same color in sequence
  • Number pairs, formed by placing the same number of tiles of different colors side by side

Pair Formation in Okey Game

To win, a player must arrange all tiles into pairs and, upon forming seven pairs, end the game by dragging the last tile to the middle of the table.

Indicator Rule in Okey Game

At the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's an Okey-colored tile, points are deducted; otherwise, 2 points are deducted from the other players.

End of Okey Game

The game ends when a player discards their last tile. If it's not an Okey, it's a normal finish; 4 points are deducted if it's Okey-colored, otherwise 2 points. Finishing with seven pairs deducts 4 points from other players. Completing a color in order from 1 to 13 sets other players' points to zero. If tiles are the same color but unordered, 8 points are deducted from other players.
