Witcher 4 Creators Support Dawnwalker Developers

The Blood of Dawnwalker, a new game developed by former CD Projekt Red (CDPR) employees, has sparked comparisons to The Witcher 4, due to stylistic similarities. Following the release of its debut trailer, online discussions erupted comparing the potential success of both titles. However, developers and former colleagues alike dismiss such comparisons as inappropriate.

One X user commented, "Dawnwalker looks amazing, just like The Witcher 4. Both works can exist together. One game doesn't negate the other. It's not a competition. Let's show respect."

Patrick K. Mills, a veteran who contributed to missions in The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, added his perspective: "Anyone comparing these games is doing the devil's work. The teams share a long history; we socialize, play games, and our group chats are filled with mutual support. There's only love here. While cultural comparisons will persist, these games share a common origin and values."

Philippe Weber, narrative director for The Witcher 4, corroborated this sentiment, highlighting similar visual elements in both games' trailers. He explained, "Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and I joked about how the 'eyes in the dark' in our trailers referenced the show Midnight Mass – an early selling point. Many creators from both teams are friends, and we're thrilled to see each other succeed!"

Rebel Wolves, the studio behind Dawnwalker, has set a challenging goal: to establish a new game franchise capable of rivaling established giants. Initial reactions to the trailer suggest The Blood of Dawnwalker possesses the potential to be a truly remarkable title, comparable to CDPR's acclaimed works.
