Author:Kristen Update:Jan 16,2026
  • The new PvE mode, Total Defence, introduces cooperative gameplay.
  • A fresh Plane Mastery system has also been implemented.
  • Competitive players will notice enhancements to the League System.

Wings of Heroes has just embarked on an exciting new path. This update brings a comprehensive Player vs Environment (PvE) mode, offering a novel way to experience the high-stakes WWII dogfighter known for its demanding skill and reflex-based combat.

Total Defence, the new mode, places you and two AI wingmen into intense cooperative missions with a straightforward goal: defend your ground assets against relentless waves of enemy planes. Each subsequent wave increases in difficulty, featuring new challenges such as agile fighters, resilient bombers, and formidable boss battles. Victory is achieved by surviving all ten waves.

While PvP dogfights and Domination modes emphasize speed and accuracy, Total Defence requires tactical thinking. You must prioritize threats from all directions and coordinate your attacks across multiple fronts. This mode tests your strategic planning alongside your piloting skills, offering a fresh approach to each engagement.

The developers position this as more than a simple addition. PvE paves the way for mission-driven content, story events, and cooperative play with friends. It establishes a foundation for richer, more social experiences while maintaining the core excitement of aerial combat.

In addition to PvE, this update introduces significant enhancements to core systems. The new Plane Mastery system motivates players to explore the full range of aircraft. Achieving mastery for a plane unlocks progress toward a distinctive black-and-gold Master Livery, an exclusive visual mark of elite skill.
