"Warzone Mobile Shuts Down: Call of Duty Ends Service"

Author:Kristen Update:May 28,2025

After barely a year on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is winding down. Activision has confirmed that the mobile version of the popular battle royale game will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content. As of May 18th, the game has been removed from the App Store and Google Play Store. Real-money purchases are now disabled, and anyone who hasn't installed the app by the cutoff date will no longer have access.

This abrupt closure marks the end of a highly anticipated mobile release that aimed to deliver the full Warzone experience to mobile-first audiences. While Activision is proud of the faithful recreation of Warzone on mobile devices, the game reportedly didn't resonate with mobile players as successfully as it did with PC and console users.

For those who have already installed the game, online access and matchmaking will continue after May 19th. However, social features will be disabled, and there is no set timeline for when the servers will shut down completely. The in-game store will remain open for existing COD Points, but no new purchases can be made.

Call of Duty: Warzone MobileAs a small consolation, players with unused COD Points from Warzone Mobile can redeem them in Call of Duty: Mobile. This redemption window is open until August 15th. By logging into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account, you'll receive double the value of your remaining Warzone Mobile COD Points, along with additional rewards.

For those who haven't installed or reinstalled the game by May 19th, this is your final chance. Post-deadline, no refunds will be issued, and the game will become inaccessible. This development is a stark reminder that even the biggest franchises can struggle to maintain long-term success on mobile platforms.
