World of Warcraft Has Good News For Players Who Missed an Important 20th Anniversary Event Achievement

Summary

  • World of Warcraft players can find Alyx in Dornogal to start a mystery quest for the Detective title.
  • Search for 11 missing Celebration Crates with clues from Alyx's board in World of Warcraft.
  • Moving Alyx ensures players can still earn the Detective title after the anniversary event.

World of Warcraft has strategically relocated Alyx, the NPC central to the Guest Relation mystery questlines from the 20th anniversary celebration, to Dornogal. Here, Alyx continues to accept missing Celebration Crates, ensuring that players can still obtain the coveted Detective title and embark on the quest for the elusive Felcycle mount, even after the anniversary event has concluded.

The 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft was a festive occasion filled with activities, rewards, and buffs that lasted nearly three months. However, as all good things must come to an end, the Caverns of Time have reverted to their usual state, and the celebratory NPCs and decorations have vanished.

Yet, Alyx remains a constant presence. Now situated at the hot springs northwest of the Delver’s Headquarters in Dornogal, near the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall, Alyx holds the new title of "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things." Accompanied by their board of notes, Alyx provides crucial clues to the locations of 11 Celebration Crates scattered across the world. Players who successfully find and return all these crates to Alyx in Dornogal can achieve Crate Insurance Agent, No Crate Left Behind, and Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, along with the highly sought-after Detective title. This title is key to unlocking the mystery that leads to Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount.

Earning the Detective Title After the WoW Anniversary

  • Locate Alyx, a Lightforged Draenei NPC, and their clue-filled board in Dornogal.
    • They are positioned between the Delver’s Headquarters and the stairs to the Foundation Hall.
  • Use the clues from the board to track down the 11 missing Celebration Crates in World of Warcraft.
    • Note that players must be at least level 10 to start the Celebration Crate quests, but cannot access Dornogal until reaching level 68.
  • Return six crates to earn the Crate Insurance Agent achievement, and all 11 crates to secure No Crate Left Behind, Azeroth’s Greatest Detective, and the Detective title.

Previously, it was thought that the Incognitro secret quests would be unavailable post-anniversary, as the Detective title was necessary to initiate the mystery with the Dalaran Survivor in Dornogal. However, by moving Alyx to Dornogal and allowing indefinite crate submissions, Blizzard ensures that no player will be permanently barred from acquiring this rare mount.

Regrettably, the rest of the Guest Relations quests from WoW's 20th anniversary are no longer accessible, as they were tied to the event's specific location. Consequently, achievements such as Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager and I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats, along with their unique Thinking Cap transmogs, are now out of reach. While it's unlikely that World of Warcraft will revive this particular storyline, the game might introduce alternative methods to obtain these rewards in the future.
