Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced yet another delay, with its release now scheduled for October 2025. This latest delay, announced in a recent update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, pushes the game back a few months from its previous target in the first half of 2025. However, there's a silver lining: the game is complete, and the team is now focusing on bug fixes, stability, and performance to ensure a top-notch experience upon release.

"The status of the game right now is that the game is done," said Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. "We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."

Despite the disappointment of another delay, the update video offers some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Additionally, the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, fans should note that updates will be less frequent moving forward, as per a recent post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by Hardsuit Labs, initially slated for a Q1 2020 release. The game experienced multiple delays, shifting first to late 2020, then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. A significant change occurred in 2023 when Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, with the latest delay, fans are set to finally experience the game in October 2025.

While there's uncertainty about whether the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic will meet its new release date, The Chinese Room remains confident. Paradox Interactive has also hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, a different developer will take on the challenge of creating Bloodlines 3.
