Obtaining Nightmare Crownless: A Step-by-Step Guide

Unlocking Nightmare Crownless requires completing the "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" quest and an additional step.

1. Completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam"

Unlike typical quests, "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" isn't initiated by an NPC. Instead:

• Access your map.
• Locate the compass icon (top-left).
• Navigate to the Penitent's End region's Exploration Progress menu. The quest will be listed there.

2. Completing "Quest of Faith" (Optional, but Recommended)

"Quest of Faith" is an optional quest, but completing it is strongly recommended for increased resource acquisition. This quest involves defeating four enemies in specific Penitent's End locations. Begin by interacting with the prompt near the circular arena by the Resonance Beacon (across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent). This initiates a battle against a Questless Knight.

Defeating the Knights requires strategic positioning: lure them near lit Macabre Torches. These torches can be re-lit by using Fae Ignis enemies. Avoid using powerful attacks near the torches to prevent extinguishing them.

3. Locating the Dream Patrols

After completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" (and optionally, "Quest of Faith"), locate all four Dream Patrols within Penitent's End. Their locations are shown in the image above.
