Top iPhone Games Updated: 'Peglin', 'Brawl Stars', 'Genshin Impact', 'Royal Match'

Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It's time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates from the last seven days. This week, Shaun has thrown in more than one free-to-play matching puzzle game update, but don't worry, we've got some cool stuff in the mix too. And, of course, you get to see Shaun kick King Robert, an activity we all enjoy. Remember, you can keep up with updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let's dive in!

Peglin, Free It's not often that I do this, but I'm awarding the coveted UMMSotW to the first game on our list this week. Peglin's 1.0 update lets you challenge up to level 20 in Cruciball, battle a new Slime Hive mini-boss, and enjoy a slew of tweaks, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and other improvements. While Peglin didn't need much updating, I'll take these enhancements any day.

Brawl Stars, Free Brawl time! Stars time! Dare we say… Brawl Stars time?! Yes, we dare. SpongeBob has joined the fray in a new event, which is pretty exciting. New Brawlers, Moe (Mythic) and Kenji (Legendary), are on the horizon, along with new Hypercharges for various characters. These updates will roll out over the next couple of months, but the SpongeBob event should kick off soon, if it hasn't already.

stitch., What more would you expect from an update to the soothing and satisfying stitch than more Hoops to play? This time, they come with a martial arts theme. The theme doesn't matter as much in a good puzzle game, as long as you get more puzzles. So, update your app and get to those Hoops. You'll feel better.

Genshin Impact, Free It seems Genshin Impact is now Genshin Impact: Natlan Launch. You've got a new region, Natlan, and three new characters: Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina. New weapons, events, stories, and artifacts are also part of this update. Regular players know what to expect from Genshin Impact updates, and while this one is a bit bigger, it follows the same pattern.

Temple Run: Puzzle Adventure, This one is on Apple Arcade, so it's not completely free-to-play, but it's still a matching puzzle game update. There are one hundred new levels to play in this Temple Run spin-off, and the tournaments have been refreshed. That's all, but it should keep players busy for a while. I've seen how quickly players chew through these levels, so I'm not sure it will last until the next update!

Jetpack Joyride 2, In this special update to the Apple Arcade sequel to Halfbrick's mega-hit auto-runner, Barry Steakfries escapes to the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism – SPACE! It's a shame I can't just leave it at that for a dramatic effect, but I need to keep things formatted. Tim Curry, folks. He's a treasure. We were graced by his many performances. Much love to Mr. Curry, who I'm 99% sure is reading this.

Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop, Another matching puzzle game, but this is one of the all-time classics. This update brings new character episodes for Sig, Carbuncle, and Rafisol in Adventure Mode. Meena is added as a playable character, without her own episode. Seven new music tracks are available in the shop, all arrangements of fan-favorite tunes. Bug fixes round out the update.

Hearthstone, Free It's Hearthstone time! The update notes are usually pretty detailed, so let's dive in. Battlegrounds Season 8, Trinkets & Travels, is on its way. It includes all the usual new stuff, plus the Trinket Shop, replacing Buddies. You can buy Trinkets with Gold twice per game, which could affect the match's outcome. Balancing might be tricky, but that's where Hearthstone stands now.

Toon Blast, Free The first of our two obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle game updates is Toon Blast. A new episode with fifty levels and some business involving bees and happiness. Bees are cool, even if I'm a bit scared of them. They help the ecosystem, and I'd give them tiny hugs if not for their stingers. Hang in there, my bug friends. We'll get through this together.

Royal Match, Free I'm torn between wanting King Robert to perish permanently or to keep perishing and returning in a perpetual cycle of pain. One hundred new levels and a new jousting arena are added. I love that ad where they swapped King Robert for the freezing pregnant lady and her child. Burn your velvet robes to warm up, you decadent old ogre.
