Paramount+ has officially renewed MobLand for Season 2, and fans couldn’t be more excited. With over 26 million viewers since its premiere on March 30, the crime drama quickly became one of the streamer’s most-watched original series ever — landing firmly in the #2 spot among Paramount+ originals to date.

Starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, MobLand delivers a gripping narrative filled with power struggles, family ties, and underworld chaos. The show also features standout performances from Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon) and Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey). The story revolves around Hardy’s character, Harry Da Souza — a skilled fixer working for Brosnan’s London-based crime boss, Conrad Harrigan. The official synopsis describes the series as an intense portrayal of two generations of gangsters navigating business, betrayal, and the man they turn to when things go wrong.

Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, praised the show’s success: “With over 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph driven by the creative brilliance of [producers] Guy [Ritchie], Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett], and David C. Glasser, and brought to life by powerhouse performances from Tom, Pierce, and Helen. We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the United Kingdom.”

Currently, no release date has been announced for Season 2. However, fans can still watch Season 1, which holds a strong 75% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

In a recent interview promoting the series, Hardy opened up about the physical toll his action-packed film career has taken on his body. Now 47, he revealed that years of filming high-intensity films like Venom, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises have left their mark.

“I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back, I’ve got sciatica as well,” Hardy shared.

“And I have that... is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well. It’s like, it’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better.”
