Street Fighter 6 Reignites Curiosity for Mai Shiranui

Street Fighter 6 welcomes a new fighter, reigniting player interest. The popular Capcom fighting game, boasting 4.4 million copies sold by December 31st, 2024, has added Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series.

This addition, the third character of the game's second season, has significantly boosted Street Fighter 6's popularity. Steam's peak concurrent player count surged past 63,000 on the day of Mai's release—a substantial increase from the previous peak of 24-27,000 and the best result since May 2024.

Access to Mai is granted through the Battle Pass. World Tour mode allows players to cultivate a relationship with Mai, learn her moves, and then put their skills to the test in Battle Hub. A second costume, inspired by her appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, has also been introduced.

A temporary addition to Battle Hub is Professor Woshige, a renowned fighting game developer, available until March 10th. The update also includes new Master League ranks and accompanying rewards.

Capcom released a trailer showcasing Mai Shiranui's impressive fighting techniques.
