Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has announced record-breaking financial results for 2024. Stellar Blade generated $43 million in royalties, and the upcoming PC release is projected to surpass PlayStation 5 sales.

Game World Observer reports that Shift Up's 2024 revenue reached $151.4 million, a 30.4% year-on-year increase. A significant portion of this, $43.2 million, stems directly from Stellar Blade royalties.

The company anticipates continued success, predicting stronger PC sales than the console version, particularly within the Asian market. While a Stellar Blade sequel is highly anticipated, Shift Up plans to unveil its new title, Project Witches, in the first half of 2025.

Project Witches, announced in 2024 following Stellar Blade's PS5 launch, preempts the development of a direct sequel. However, Shift Up has indicated that a future installment in the Stellar Blade franchise is under consideration.

Stellar Blade, a fast-paced action RPG, casts players as Eve, fighting unknown invaders to reclaim Earth. While receiving a positive 7/10 rating from IGN and selling over a million copies, the game's critical reception highlighted shortcomings in character development, narrative, and RPG mechanics, preventing it from reaching the top tier of the genre. The review noted that while the action gameplay was strong, these other aspects held it back.
