The choices you make in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl significantly impact your gameplay. The mission "Just Like the Good Old Days" follows either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order," both culminating in an escape from the SIRCAA.

Talk to Professor Lodochka at Wild Island

Head to the mission marker on Wild Island to find Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp. Upon arrival, prioritize eliminating the marked mercenaries. They're straightforward encounters, without any tricky hiding spots.

Pack some decent gear; this isn't the only combat you'll face. After clearing the mercenaries, a single mission marker will lead you to Lodochka. An optional objective—activating the ventilation system—will then become available.

Activate the Ventilation System

Consult your map to locate the fuse. Once obtained, another marker will appear, guiding you to the engineering rooms. Be prepared for an invisible enemy within.

Navigate the shelter's passageways to the engine room. Use the fuse to restore power to the ventilation system, paving the way for mission progression. While completing this optional objective doesn't offer unique rewards, it simplifies the remainder of the mission.

Find the Source of the Signal

Consider upgrading your weaponry before proceeding, as the challenge increases. At the marked location, you'll find a cave entrance near the water. Navigate the caverns westward, descending and maneuvering through obstacles. A broken pipe provides access to higher cave levels.

Locate the large cone-shaped spire and the emitter at the marked point beside it. An invisible enemy awaits on your return journey. Finally, return to Lodochka to complete the mission and unlock "Hornet's Nest."
