Spotify Outage Alert: Service Down

Heads up: Music streaming giant Spotify encountered an outage this morning, leaving many users unable to access their favorite tunes.

According to Downdetector, reports of Spotify outages started pouring in around 6 a.m. PT today. We at IGN experienced the issue firsthand, struggling to access the service throughout the morning. Even when we managed to open the app, it refused to play music.

Spotify has officially acknowledged the problem and is actively working to resolve it. The company also debunked rumors suggesting the outage was due to a security hack.
