Should You Give the Splinter of Eothas Relic to Sargamis in Avowed?

The decision of whether to give Sargamis the Splinter of Eothas in Avowed is a pivotal early choice with significantly different consequences. This guide details the outcomes of giving Sargamis the relic.

Refusal: A Confrontation

Victory yields the Last Light of Day mace, a unique weapon restoring health upon enemy defeat and boosting fire damage.

Acceptance: Multiple Paths

Image: Sargamis statue interaction Agreeing to give Sargamis the splinter presents two main options (plus a third: changing your mind, resulting in a fight). First, you can persuade him to place himself in the statue, leading to his death and obtaining the Last Light of Day mace. Second, you can offer yourself to the statue, creating another branching path. Standing in the designated circle results in your death and the "Get In The Statue, Envoy" achievement. Leaving the circle before activation triggers a fight with Sargamis.

The Optimal Outcome: Peaceful Resolution

Image: Sargamis conversation The best approach requires an Intellect stat of 4 or higher. Place the splinter in the statue, activate it (it will fail), then speak with Sargamis. Convincing him his plan is futile leads him to abandon it, avoiding conflict. This path, often accessible with the Court Augur or Arcane Scholar backgrounds, yields more experience than combat or simply handing over the splinter. After Sargamis departs, choose to either let the voice utilize the statue or destroy it yourself, then speak to Sargamis in his quarters to complete this portion of the Dawntreader quest.
