Sony Encourages PC Gamers to Link PSN for Exclusive Ellie Skin in The Last of Us 2 Remastered

Sony has recently unveiled the PC specifications for The Last of Us Part II Remastered ahead of its eagerly anticipated release on April 3. Alongside the PC specs, Sony has detailed PSN sign-in incentives and announced exciting new content for the No Return Mode on both PC and PlayStation 5.

In a comprehensive post on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog highlighted the collaboration with support studios Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy to bring an enhanced PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, which follows a year after its debut on the PlayStation 5.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC Features:

• Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution support
• AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 support with upscaling and frame generation
• VSync and framerate cap options, including an uncapped framerate option
• DirectStorage support
• Adjustable Texture Quality
• LOD Distance Range
• Volumetric Quality
• Shadow Quality
• Ambient Occlusion
• Reflections Quality

The game also supports Ultrawide monitors, allowing players to enjoy the game in 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions, with compatibility for triple-monitor setups.

Gamers can expect to play in 4K resolution, with support for various controllers, including keyboard and mouse controls. The game features 3D audio and extensive keyboard and mouse control customization options, including full control remapping, primary and secondary bindings, and an adaptive mode for combining keyboard and controller inputs. DualSense controllers offer full haptic feedback.

Sony emphasized that the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered is optimized for a wide range of hardware, from high-end PCs to handheld gaming devices, ensuring a top-notch gaming experience.

The Last of Us Part 2 PC Specs:

No Return Mode Updates:

Naughty Dog is adding two new characters to No Return Mode: Bill and Marlene from The Last of Us Part I.

• Bill adopts a "Smuggler" playstyle, allowing access to a custom pump shotgun from dead drops and receiving double rewards from drops. He's stronger against melee attacks but cannot dodge.
• Marlene follows a "Risk Taker" playstyle, equipped with a Custom Assault Rifle and "All or Nothing" gambits, with the ability to reroute her No Return path once per run.

Additionally, four new maps are being introduced to No Return Mode:

• Overlook: Set high above Seattle with verticality, reminiscent of a Seraphites encounter.
• School: The abandoned elementary school where Ellie and Dina face the W.L.F.
• Streets: Set in the overgrown Hillcrest neighborhood of Seattle.
• Nest: An Infected-infested building from Abby's perspective.

All new No Return content, along with new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 day-and-date with the PC launch through a free downloadable 2.0.0 patch.

PSN Sign-in Incentives:

The Last of Us 2 Remastered on PC includes an optional PSN log-in feature. Signing in with a PSN account grants access to the PlayStation overlay, PSN Trophies, 50 in-game points for bonus features, and a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

PS5 players can also unlock Jordan's jacket skin via the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet:

Neil Druckmann, director of The Last of Us, shared more about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet in an interview with Alex Garland. The game, which has been in development for four years, stars Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun and is set in an alternate historical timeline. It explores themes of faith and religion within a prominent religion that has evolved over time.

HBO's The Last of Us Series:

The PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered is set to release before Season 2 of HBO's adaptation of the series. Showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin confirmed the return of spores in the upcoming season, which were omitted from the first.
