The Sims 1 and 2 might come back to PC very soon

The Sims franchise is marking its 25th anniversary with a bang, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled its celebratory plans, unanticipated announcements are still possible.

A recent Sims teaser subtly alluded to the series' first two installments, sparking widespread fan speculation about a potential revival. While no official confirmation exists, Kotaku sources hint at a possible announcement later this week: digital PC re-releases of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs.

The possibility of console versions, and their release timeframe, remains uncertain. However, given the potent appeal of nostalgia, it seems improbable that EA would forgo the lucrative opportunity.

The original Sims 1 and 2 are now quite dated, and legitimate avenues for playing them are exceedingly limited. Their return would undoubtedly be met with enthusiastic approval from long-time fans.
