SEGA Stars Join Sonic Rumble in Epic Crossover Debut!

Even though *Sonic Rumble* hasn’t officially launched worldwide just yet, SEGA has already pulled off an exciting surprise with the Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This special event runs from now until May 7th—just one day before the game’s global release on May 8th—and brings together some of the most iconic characters from SEGA’s legendary lineup.

Soft Launch Recap

Currently in its soft launch phase, *Sonic Rumble* is available in over 40 countries. The first pre-launch phase took place in Summer 2024 and included regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. Pre-Launch 2 expanded availability further, adding Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.

What's New in the SEGA Stars Crossover?

If you're already playing in one of the soft launch regions, you can jump into the *Sonic Rumble x SEGA Stars* crossover right away. One of the highlights is the return of the Altered Beast crew, offering the powerful Werewolf transformation completely free.

Fans of retro beast modes can also look forward to the Werebear and Weredragon. While the Werebear may be available for purchase using regular Rings, the Weredragon is locked behind the Premium Pass, giving subscribers exclusive access.

Fantasy Zone & Super Monkey Ball Join the Fun

The crossover also brings a splash of *Fantasy Zone* charm with Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa joining the roster. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass rewards, while Upa-Upa can be unlocked by collecting fragments purchased with standard Rings—at 700 Rings per fragment.

Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from *Super Monkey Ball* have rolled into the action. If you’re aiming to unlock AiAi, prepare to spend 729 Red Star Rings. Below, you can catch a glimpse of all the crossover excitement:

Earn Exclusive Rewards During the Event

During the *SEGA Stars* crossover, players can collect SEGA logos during matches to earn exclusive in-game rewards. Although it might seem unusual for such a large event to go live before the official global launch, SEGA has confirmed that many of these pre-release items will return after May 8th.
