"The Last of Us Season 4 Uncertain: Showrunner Craig Mazin on Narrative Completion"

The Last of Us' TV adaptation has been a resounding success, with Season 3 greenlit even before Season 2 began airing. However, the question on everyone's mind is whether there will be a Season 4. According to showrunner Craig Mazin, a fourth season is practically essential to fully tell the story from the two Naughty Dog video games.

In an interview with Collider, Mazin explained that attempting to wrap up the narrative in just Season 3 would result in an excessively long season. He stated, "Season 3 would take forever" to cover all the necessary plot points, leading him to conclude that "there’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season."

Mazin expressed hope that the series would continue to perform well enough to justify a fourth season, saying, "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
