Released in March 2023, the Sony Bravia XR X93L was the second-highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony’s lineup at the time, trailing only the X95L (available exclusively in an 85-inch size in the U.S.). The X93L features Mini LED technology, which enhances HDR content. Its LED-backlit panels consist of an array of small LEDs that can independently turn on and off, improving black levels and contrast ratio. In a Mini-LED panel, the LEDs are even smaller and more numerous, allowing for better brightness control within scenes.

As a top-tier gaming TV, the X93L offers four HDMI ports, two of which are HDMI 2.1 compliant. HDMI 2.1 supports 4K output at up to 120Hz, ideal for modern consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The new Nintendo Switch OLED model caps out at 60fps in 4K, so HDMI 2.1 isn’t necessary for that system.

Android users will appreciate the familiar Google TV smart interface, known for its simplicity and seamless integration with Android devices as remotes.
