Unlocking Rosa's Book Side Quest

Before Rosa requests your assistance, complete the "Via Argentum" quest and begin "Taking French Leave." After resolving the Vavak situation with the Ruthard family (through either force or diplomacy), speak with Rosa to learn about a secret passage into Maleshov, essential for rescuing Hans. She'll then ask you to retrieve a book. Inquire about the book's specifics, and your promise to obtain it initiates the "Rosa's Book" quest. This quest is only available during "Taking French Leave." Failing to retrieve the book before leaving with Hans results in a failed quest and prevents a potential romance with Rosa.

Locating Rosa's Book in Maleshov

Upon entering Maleshov, Hans is located in the tallest tower. Use the external stairs to access the tower's entrance. Inside, find another staircase and a small kitchen nearby. Wait in the kitchen until the guards patrolling upstairs leave the tower.

Stealthily ascend the stairs. You'll encounter Lady Ofka in a room. Knock her out from behind, then collect the keys from her person, the keys from the podium, and the sword from the chest. Rosa's book is located in this room—a red book in the window alcove to the right of the fireplace. Once you acquire it, your objective updates to returning the book to Rosa.

While in the area, retrieve the sword from the chest in the adjacent room. This prepares you for Hans and his unexpected guest, as you'll need two weapons. Proceed to the top floor, unlock the door on the left, and trigger a cutscene.

Completing the Quest

Following the cutscene, continue "Taking French Leave." Guide Hans to the stables, neutralizing guards along the way. Open the gate, triggering another cutscene that concludes the quest. Return to Kuttenberg City and deliver Rosa's book to her at Ruthard Palace, completing the "Rosa's Book" quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
