Pokemon TCG Pocket Sleep Status Explained

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 04,2025

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, Sleep is a debilitating status condition. This guide details its effects and how to counter it.

Understanding Sleep in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Sleep renders a Pokémon unable to attack, use abilities, or retreat. A sleeping Pokémon is effectively incapacitated while active.

Curing Sleep

There are three primary methods to wake a sleeping Pokémon:

  1. Coin Toss: Each turn, a coin toss determines if the Pokémon awakens. This is a chance-based method.

  2. Evolution: Evolving a sleeping Pokémon instantly cures it.

  3. Koga Trainer Card: This card specifically returns a sleeping Weezing or Muk to your hand.

The coin toss method, while potentially quick, relies on luck and can leave your Pokémon vulnerable for multiple turns. Evolution offers a reliable cure, but requires having the appropriate evolution card.

Sleep-Inducing Cards

Eight cards currently inflict the Sleep status:
