Pokemon GO Reveals New Gigantamax Debut Coming in Future Event

Summary

  • Gigantamax Kingler makes its Pokémon GO debut on February 1st during the Max Battle Day event.
  • Players can utilize Max Mushrooms to significantly boost damage in battles.
  • Event bonuses include increased Max Particle collection limits, more frequent Power Spot battles featuring Gigantamax Pokémon, and boosted XP rewards.

Pokémon GO announced the arrival of Gigantamax Kingler on February 1st. Last year's highly anticipated update introduced Dynamax and Gigantamax forms to Pokémon GO, and since then, the developers have steadily expanded the roster of available Gigantamax Pokémon. Gigantamax, a powerful Dynamax form, not only increases a Pokémon's size and strength but also alters its appearance and grants unique G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Gigantamax-capable Pokémon, Pokémon GO currently boasts only six, with Gigantamax Lapras being the most recent addition. This number is set to increase with the upcoming event.

Gigantamax Kingler will debut in Pokémon GO on February 1st during Max Battle Day. This event, running from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, will feature the Water-type Pokémon in six-star Max Battles, offering players the chance to encounter a shiny Gigantamax Kingler. To enhance their battling prowess, players can utilize Max Mushrooms, temporary items that significantly increase damage dealt by Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon in Max Battles.

Max Battle Day is one of February's featured events, but not the only one. Niantic recently announced the Lunar New Year event, running from January 29th to February 1st. While Gigantamax Kingler's debut won't coincide with the Lunar New Year event, players can still look forward to other exciting activities, including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19th, and the upcoming arrival of more Galar Pokémon in the coming days.
