Pokémon Champions: New Android Battle Sim Launches

Pokémon Day was celebrated just yesterday on February 27th. To mark the occasion, The Pokémon Company revealed a wave of announcements during a special Pokémon Presents stream. The showcase featured a first look at the new game Pokémon Legends: Z‑A, teasers for upcoming episodes of Pokémon Concierge, and an early preview of their battle simulator titled Pokémon Champions.

What really caught our attention is the newly announced battle sim, Pokémon Champions. Created by The Pokémon Works in partnership with Game Freak, the game focuses entirely on competitive battling. That means you won’t be catching creatures, exploring tall grass, or collecting Gym Badges this time around!

What Additional Details Do We Know About Pokémon Champions, the New Battle Sim?

Pokémon Champions is built as a multiplayer experience, supporting cross‑platform play on both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. While it will offer several game modes, specifics about them remain unannounced.

A major highlight of Pokémon Champions is its integration with Pokémon Home. This feature allows players to bring over some of their favorite Pokémon from earlier titles. However, not every Pokémon will be accessible immediately—only a curated roster will be usable when the game launches.

With Pokémon Champions, The Pokémon Company appears to be creating a dedicated space for competitive play, focusing on high‑stakes battles without the usual adventure elements of the core series. Until more information is shared, you can watch the game’s reveal trailer below.
