Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing several titles recently. Following their deck-building game Zoeti, they've launched The Darkside Detective, a puzzle game, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available simultaneously!).

A Glimpse into The Darkside Detective's World

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a city where the strange, spooky, and absurd are commonplace. Our protagonists are Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly clueless Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, the perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. Players will solve nine short cases, delving into the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures present a variety of challenges, from time-travel mysteries and tentacled horrors to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. Watch the trailer below for a sneak peek!

The game is a vibrant homage to pop culture, referencing classic horror films, sci-fi series, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone are intriguing: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.

The game's remarkable ability to inject humor into every pixel is a standout feature. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. A Fumble in the Dark can be played independently of the prequel, also available on Google Play.
