PlayStation Plus subscribers will get five extra days for free

Sony has addressed the nearly day-long PlayStation Network (PSN) outage this weekend, attributing it to an "operational issue" in a social media post. While the company offered no further explanation or preventative measures, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive five extra days of service as compensation.

The outage left many players unable to connect. Over a third reported login failures, with others experiencing server crashes throughout the day. This incident highlights concerns among players who have criticized Sony's requirement of a PSN account even for single-player PC games.

This isn't the first major PSN disruption. The April 2011 data breach resulted in over 20 days of connectivity problems. Although less severe, the recent outage has left PS5 users dissatisfied with Sony's limited communication regarding the cause and future prevention.
